From April 27 to April 30, 2017, the I International Festival in the field of travel and tourism “Russian Traveler” named after N. N. Miklouho-Maclay will be held in the multifunctional tourist complex “GRINN” in Orel with the support of ROSTOURISM, RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY, ROSCOSMOS, FEDERATION OF SPORTS TOURISM OF RUSSIA, administration Oryol region, the administration of Oryol and other organizations.

Russian travelers are developing a unique direction - sports tourism, which is based on active free independent hikes of the highest categories of difficulty, which constitute invaluable experience in safely overcoming the violent elements of all seasons in all corners of the Earth, experience in reasonable, competent construction of a route, clear planning of your movement and life activities. This invaluable experience lies at the foundation of the work of rescue teams of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and military units of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

HONOR THE MEMORY

Every year the international Festival “Russian Traveler” is named after an outstanding Russian traveler. The 2017 event was officially named after the outstanding Russian traveler, ethnographer, anthropologist, biologist, artist, declared a citizen of the world by UNESCO in 1996 - Nikolai Nikolaevich Miklouho-Maclay. Descendants of the great explorer will be among the invited guests at the event.

WE CREATE HISTORY

On April 29, 2017, during the international Festival “Russian Traveler” in the city of Orel, a festive opening ceremony of the first bronze monument in Russia and in the world “Dedicated to Russian travelers... The Wheel of History” will take place with the laying of a capsule with a message to descendants, the “Zero Milestone” of travelers and the “Walk of Fame” with the laying of 44 compass stars made of brass to outstanding Russians travelers.

The Festival Organizing Committee creates a TV channel and FM radio station “Russian Traveler”, publishes a specialized magazine and newspaper. On April 29, 2017, a Gala dinner will be held with a festive award ceremony for the winners and laureates of the international Award in the field of travel and tourism “Russian Traveler” named after N.N. QUEST

On April 29, 2017, the city historical and geographical quest “Russian Traveler” will take place with the main prize - a week’s participation in one of the stages of the round-the-world sea expedition on the yacht “Gagarin”.

OLYMPICS

On April 29, 2017, the Olympiad in the field of travel and tourism “Russian Traveler” will take place with the main prize - free education at Oryol State University for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the disciplines “tourism and hospitality” (to choose from).
