In 1819, the Koshkinsky lighthouse was built to ensure the safe passage of ships at the mouth of the Neva. This lighthouse, unlike Storozhensky, was not made in the form of a log house, but from vertical pillars covered with boards. A log two-story house was also built next to it. The first floor was intended for the residence of lower ranks, and the second for the lighthouse keeper and his family. Regarding the date of construction of this lighthouse, it may be objected that in a series of “Descriptions of lighthouses, towers and other navigable signs...” published at a later time, the year 1821 was indicated.
