Lismore Lighthouse station fabric

The continuing lighthouse-station fabric on Eilean Musdile, modeled separately from the Chance Brothers optic associated with it. Robert Stevenson was principal engineer and James Smith of Inverness built the station; its fixed white light was first exhibited in October 1833. The Category A listed complex comprises the circular rendered tower, iron dome and two linked keeper houses. Northern Lighthouse Board automated the station in June 1965 and continues to operate a flashing white light serving the entrance to Loch Linnhe.
